I read this in an article this morning. I'll tell you why - because I am/was one of those people.
You never, ever want sober people around judging you when you are drinking too much. It is embarrassing and shameful. In fact, I wouldn't even invite people that I knew didn't drink. That's why....
It's all just so stupid!
I was the same way, k. There is a couple we used to drink with when we lived on the boat, he quit drinking for awhile and we never invited them over during that period. It's not only stupid, it's mean.
ReplyDeleteHe started drinking again, I'm sure in part because he felt so ostracized. Now I am the one not drinking and they're coming to see us in a few weeks. I guess they're bigger people than I was.
I agree, that is stupid.
